Third Week of April

A tad late on this update! But, this week has consisted mostly of some much needed rest and relaxation, mostly in the form of catching up on some shows and gaming.

I was delighted to see new seasons of Love, Death + Robots as well as Black Mirror drop nearly at the same time! And we also have Andor coming out next week! These have done wonders to recharge my battery after dealing with all the dark and grim news gripping our nation. It also gives me some great fuel for my imagination, rekindling my joy for the amazing stories science fiction is capable of telling.

As far as my gaming ventures this week, it involved setting up a, uh... 'agricultural operation' in Schedule I with some friends. This is a game with fairly simple graphics but an amazingly solid game loop and it's really exploded in popularity. The other game that is very likely to eat up a lot of my downtime in the future is Balders Gate 3, which just dropped its (allegedly) last large update. For anyone unfamiliar, BG3 is a Dungeons & Dragons game with a big, epic quest line, loads of character and class options, and some of the best story telling we've seen in a game this decade. As usual, I can spend hours just fine tuning my character at the start of the game before I even begin, but I finally settled on a Drow shadow sorcerer and am determined to play through to the end of the game finally.

All of this means that I'll be ready to dive back into my novel when my manuscript gets back from the beta reader tomorrow, and hopefully have some updates ready to share on release dates and other details soon!
