Status Report
What a wild two weeks it has been!
The launch for Of Oracles and Sirens went great, with around 60 sales in the first week and a great launch party at Pageturner's Bookstore! It was so awesome to see everyone that was able to make it and answer questions about the book.
This week saw the launch of the BookBub promo, and the results quickly exceeded my expectations. As of this writing I am somewhere around 445 sales across all my channels, an impressive number for a debut author no one has heard of! More than that, though, these sales propelled Of Oracles and Sirens to the number one best seller in the Colonization Sci-Fi category on Amazon, and is raising its visibility across pretty much all major platforms. I even had some paperback and hardcover orders from Germany, which if you didn't know has a very big sci-fi fan base!
Highlights from the Archive
Not much to report on this front after the launch, honestly. Most of my posts have just been marketing pushes for the book and sale announcements (the e-book is on sale for $0.99 till May 5th!)
Behind the Curtain
Fun fact, I've received orders from Canada, the UK, Australia, Germany, and even one from India! Germany, especially, placed orders for paperback and hardcover editions of the book, which is very cool to see.
And for my next trick...
The biggest push now is to gather as many reviews as possible. I have a contest in mind but have to be careful how I go about it: Amazon gets very strict with any appearance of someone paying for reviews, which is not the intent here. Conceptually, I would be giving away a signed copy of a special edition for Of Oracles and Sirens. Entry for the contest would require proof of reviews left on at least three sites (Amazon, GoodReads, and an extra of your choice), or a detailed post about the book on your social media of choice, or a blog post.
Aside from that, I'm trying to carve out time to work on drafting for Book 2! Things have been busy the past couple weeks though, so its a bit of a rough re-start on that. I'll keep at it though!
