Selected Record: Of Oracles and Sirens

Status Report

This is the first Behind the Archives post after the launch of my newsletter! The content for these will be largely the same, with newsletter subscribers receiving the updates a few days early, as well as added goodies like download links to artwork from the Oraculi Universe, wallpapers, and other exclusive content.

My brain is in full marketing mode right now, with Of Oracles and Sirens launching tomorrow! Marketing is probably one of the things that I'll be hiring someone to do for me as soon as that is financially feasible, but in the meantime I've been trying to figure it out as best I can. I had a call with a consultant last week and got a ton of great advice, which directly lead to the creation of the newsletter! In a world of social media platforms rising and falling and algorithms changing frequently, good old e-mail is still one of the most reliable ways to stay in touch with readers.

Drafting on book 2 is on hold while I focus on the launch for book 1 these next couple weeks, though I have been doing a bit of worldbuilding on the universe in general when I get a break from marketing efforts. I'm also reading through Of Oracles and Sirens myself one last time before the launch.

Highlights from the Archive

This week we saw the last entry of the Requiem Logs land! These are some fun in-universe log entries from the Requiem de la Lune that occur in the years leading up to the start of the book. Now that they're all out, it's a great opportunity to watch through them to get yourself ready for the book! Sprinkled in among these are some videos from a character named C0Y0T3 which delves a bit more into some of the background lore. You can watch all entries easily with the playlist on my YouTube channel.

I've also launched an Instagram channel, though I'll admit I'm still trying to figure out what content will go best there.

Behind the Curtain

I am very excited that I was able to secure the services of Alexander Gustafson once again for the interior artwork on book 2! He does amazing work, and I can't wait to see him bring these new creatures and scenes to life. I'll be sharing some of the sketches he sends over once they're ready.

And for my next trick...

Expect a flurry of marketing posts on all the various channels this week as the book launches, and don't forget to take advantage of the sale for the e-book, which is $0.99 until April 9th!

It's been a long journey, and I've enjoyed every minute of it. I can't wait for everyone to dive into the Oraculi Universe!
