Selected Record: Of Oracles and Sirens

Status Report

The crazy pace continued the past couple of weeks! Advanced Reading Copies are out to all my early readers (very positive feedback so far!), I officially unveiled the launch date for the book (April 7th!), and I signed up for my first author event.

Writing on Book 2 has stalled momentarily. This book has multiple character points of view right from the start, and I was having trouble seeing where my characters were taking things with the more broad outline that I started with. So, I dove into a chapter by chapter outline for the book and it is helping out a lot! I have the first three acts fully outlined, and will finish the last two tomorrow. Writing should move pretty quickly once that is done!

Highlights from the Archive

Some more Requiem Log entries are live, along with a second C0Y0T3 entry. I'll link my launch announcement video as well, but if you're reading this from my website you have likely already seen the pre-order links!

Behind the Curtain

One of the upsides I have found from doing a chapter by chapter outline is that it lets me get a bit deeper into character motivations and reactions to situations before I actually start writing. This lets me spot potential plot hooks and foreshadowing moments that I can loop in, very excited to start writing these!

And for my next trick...

Well, my copy edits have just arrived as I am typing this! I'll take a look at those later tonight, finish outlining book 2's chapters tomorrow, and then put together the FINAL DRAFT for the manuscript on Of Oracles and Sirens! After that, I'll be sending out some inquiries for a launch party event, and then its pretty much full drafting mode for book 2 while getting my marketing content put out as we approach the launch date!
