Status Report

Happy New Year! The first couple weeks I've mostly been focused on landing my marketing content. I have a good plan for those but I'm not sure I've really gotten TikTok figured out yet. I'm going to stick with my current format there for a bit longer, probably throw in a few different styles of videos to see if any of them perform better. Since I'm mostly batch recording these videos a few weeks ahead of time, I did some planning for my writing goals for this year. Long story short, I finalized the outline for Book 2 and have started writing the first draft! Its satisfying to be writing again, but I'm trying to be mindful of burnout and take it easy.

Highlights from the Archive

The first two entries in the Requiem Logs are out! These are fun little glimpses into the universe my book is set in, all from events leading up to the start of the book. Behind the Curtain

While outlining and starting in on writing Book 2, I made a pivot on one the main conflict occurring in the book. The more I looked into the first option I had gone with, the more I realized it was a bit shallow in the end, hard to see why people would actually be going along with the ideas being pushed. Thus I wound up pivoting to a different sort of movement that will be spreading through the populace of the settlement. This one has the added benefit of coming into play in future books as well and I think readers will find it much more relatable and believable.

And for my next trick...

I'm hoping to get a decent amount of writing done these next couple weeks, which likely means the next Behind the Archives post will wait until then. I've started getting a list of ARC readers put together and will be aiming to have copies in their hands by end of month. On that note, I also need to get my official author portrait done sometime soon. Oh, and be on the lookout for unauthorized information from my universe this next week, it seems someone or someTHING may be trying to get a message out...
